I discovered the world of horses about 10 years ago and my whole world changed. Up to that point I had been involved in competitive athletics. I studied human anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, and human play as a graduate student at the University of Oregon. And then it happened; I went on vacation with my friend and rode a horse on the beaches of Kauai. I came home, started taking riding lessons, got my first horse, got my second horse, got my third horse....moved to a 77 acre grass seed farm, so there would be space for my horses, and began to study horses with the same vigor I pursed my graduate school program.
What I knew about people began to transfer to what I learned about horses. My camera became a way for me to get to know the movement and spirit of my horses and their friends. What I have seen watching horses interact with each other and their environment continues to inspire me. The beauty with which they move and the power of their spirits is enticing. As a photographer, I hope to capture the elusive moments that demonstrate the essence of each individual personality whether at play, at work, or interacting with humans. I am a student of motion; even a portrait requires catching a look in the horse's eye or the movement of the ear to create the desired impression.
Photography for me is about giving people a piece of happiness. If I have the opportunity to photograph you and your horse/dog, I will try to capture the connection and feeling you have for your animal. I will hope to provide you with a photo that demonstrates the relationship you and your horse/dog share and provide you with photos you will treasure for years to come.
I have a wealth of experience in a wide-range of situations.
